Real Simpsons’ Springfield Revealed

Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, has revealed that Springfield, Oregon was the inspiration for the Simpson family’s hometown. The town lies 100 miles south of Groening’s hometown of Portland.  Groening grew up in Evergreen Terrace, where the Simpson family also reside.
